Naturespace's user interface is extremely VoiceOver-friendly which is a huge plus if you are blind like me. The sound quality is unparalleled, especially when using headphones, and the tracks' titles and descriptions are very creative.

Supporto VoiceOver completo. Ogni elemento interattivo dell’app, ogni pulsante, ogni traccia, ogni voce di elenco ha un’etichetta VoiceOver esplicita, scritta a mano. Titoli delle tracce, durata e stato del download vengono annunciati insieme come una descrizione coerente, non come parti separate, perché il team ha creato un contenitore personalizzato nel 2014 per migliorare il modo in cui iOS presenta i contenuti raggruppati agli utenti non vedenti.

Le etichette VoiceOver sono tradotte in tutte le 10 lingue supportate. Utenti non vedenti negli Stati Uniti, nel Regno Unito, in Canada, Australia, Germania, Francia, Spagna, Italia, Giappone, Corea, Brasile, Cina continentale e Taiwan ascoltano l’app nella propria lingua. Questo va oltre quanto fanno la maggior parte delle app, dove le etichette di accessibilità sono disponibili solo in inglese.

L’app non contiene animazioni. Nulla sfuma, scorre, rimbalza o cambia. È intenzionale. Significa che Naturespace è compatibile con chi usa l’impostazione Riduci movimento, con utenti con disturbi vestibolari o emicranie e con chi trova il movimento nelle interfacce fonte di distrazione. Le descrizioni delle tracce vengono lette come prosa evocativa. Ogni traccia del catalogo ha una descrizione sensoriale, scritta a mano e tradotta in 10 lingue. Quando VoiceOver legge queste descrizioni, un utente non vedente non sente solo la registrazione, ma anche il luogo descritto. Come ha scritto un recensore, l’app "mi aiuta a immaginare il paesaggio." Le descrizioni sono state scritte per chi vede, ma funzionano, forse ancora meglio, per chi ascolta senza preconcetti.

I am light perception blind and was born that way so I have never seen nature. This app is absolutely amazing. I have looked for weeks trying to find an app that would help me sleep but I didn't find one until I found Naturespace. I can feel like I'm there.

Being blind, I focus on the sounds of nature since I cannot focus on its visual aspects. All I have to do is plug in the headphones and I am alone in the woods sitting on a log in dappled shade.

The recordings are of fabulous quality. It is like being right there where the recording was made. The sound is so clear and realistic that the listener can tell whether trees are close and densely growing or whether the area is open. Now that all functions of the app work with VoiceOver, I can now enjoy all aspects of the app.
