Why 3D matters

Our Audio

We have spent the last decade perfecting our outdoor recording techniques for use with headphones. This allows us to accurately recreate sound as the ear hears it, free of interior reflections and indoor acoustics, to impart a true-hemispheric sound field. Distance and position are captured with precision and maintained from the beginning to the end of our process, which extends all the way to our proprietary audio engine that resides at the heart of our apps. Ultimately, it is the accuracy of our recordings that make them so remarkably effective at easing stress. The sound is so real and immersive, the mind completely buys into it. 

Our specialized team of audio engineers record outdoor environments in 3D using proprietary holographic microphone techniques drawn from binaural, classical, and field recording practices. The results are astonishing: Naturespace recordings preserve the entire hemispheric sound field, including the sounds that occur in front, behind, beside, and above the listener over headphones.

Beyond three dimensions

In addition to the 3D aspects of our work, the sheer quality of our audio and the length of our recordings differentiate us from most conventional audio. Many relaxation apps only provide stock sound effects of mediocre fidelity in short thirty-second loops, which quickly become obvious, repetitive, and mechanical... the opposite of natural. We do things differently. All of our sounds are recorded by our audio team utilizing only the finest equipment in sonically pristine environments with innovative approaches to the challenges that recording nature presents. We spend days in each location we record, selecting only the most magical moments. The average length of a Naturespace track is approximately twelve minutes, with many lasting over thirty minutes. The unusual length of our tracks allows for the amazing amount of subtle details that go on in nature to gradually unfold.
